Our Mission

Youth, Incorporated helps troubled kids take the right path.

YOUTH, INCORPORATED - AN ALTERNATIVE

For 37 years, Youth, Incorporated, a 501(c)(3) organization, has been quietly shining
a bright light on the right path for Cincinnati's at-risk youth. Six-hundred teenagers
a year, who find themselves in the Juvenile Court System, are given a chance to have
a stable environment where trained staff listen and model the importance of education,
boundaries, morals, and respect. Although some parents have tried their best, many of
our teenagers may not survive the drug-ridden neighborhoods or the over exposure of
negative role models without having someone step in to help. You probably had parents
who did this for you, but think about being raised in a home where no one cared about
what you ate or if you ate much less if you came home at night? You might have ended
up in the juvenile justice system, wondering how you got there.

YOUTH, INCORPORATED’S COMMITMENT

Our staff is trained and committed to making a difference in our city’s at-risk youth. We
understand that incarceration won’t cure the root problems of these children. As a
partner with the juvenile court system, Youth, Incorporated offers an alternative
residential program to the detention center. We use behavior modification, anger
management, conflict resolutions, violence prevention and responsible decision-making
techniques to give these teens positive guidance, and it works! Successful graduates of
our residential program have visited to boast about returning to school, getting a job, or
keeping a job. They thank the staff members who cared enough about them to make an
impact in their young lives. For some, this may be the first adult to give them support and
encouragement. This is the moment that makes all the hard efforts a reality. A child has
taken the right path in becoming a productive adult and hopefully not another crime
statistic!
