YOUTH, INCORPORATED SUCCESS STORIES

At Home with the Holmes House for Girls
This year five girls have made the transition from the Holmes House to independent living. Another resident still with us has found success staying in one school. In her first five weeks at Holmes House she had gone through five different schools. She has now been living with us for a year, and is earning A’s, B’s & C’s at her high school. We are very proud of our residents and we look forward to keeping you updated on their continued success!
At the Release Center for Boys
Nearly 300 boys who have been in trouble with the juvenile court have been through our program this year and successfully return home or other safe environments. While at the Roeller Education Center, their math and reading skills are assessed. Some boys work with our teachers to prepare for their GED. Other boys prepare to return to their neighborhood schools. They also meet with positive male role models, and go on field trips such as a tour of General Electric, a visit to the Art Museum, and the Omni Max Theatre. The more exposure they have to positive experiences, the greater the opportunity for them to make positive choices.
Our staff members tell how they receive numerous phone calls from the teens. Staff share stories of former residents stopping by for advice, to see how staff is doing or to thank the staff for being concerned about them.
