Youth, Incorporated’s Commitment

Youth, Incorporated staff members help to make a positive difference in the lives of troubled, at-risk youth. We partner with the juvenile court and Job and Family Services. By offering alternative residential programs to both the detention center for the boys and foster placement for the girls.

Using behavior modification, anger management, conflict resolutions, violence prevention and responsible decision-making techniques, the programs offered by Youth, Inc. give these teens positive guidance – with concrete results! We also utilize a number of visual cues and activities that model and encourage responsible, constructive behavior. A values worksheet helps our youth identify what was, is and could be important to them in life. Group exercises like our “What I Want” program help pinpoint the importance of family, friends, teachers and, most importantly, self. Goal setting, self evaluation and reflection journals also contribute to helping increase awareness and self-esteem while empowering our youth to envision a practical path towards a positive, and reachable, future. Our programs give our teens hope that their goals can be achieved through their abilities and efforts.

We are committed to four primary rules.
We will treat everyone with respect.
We will all take responsibility for our actions.
We will get actively involved.
We will be helpful to others.
With these core values, we trust our teens will be successful.

Many graduates of our residential programs have come back to boast about returning to school, getting and/or keeping a job. They thank the staff member who cared enough about them to make an impact in their young lives. For some, this may be the first adult to give them healthy support and encourage or at least the first adult they have listened to. This is the moment that makes all the hard efforts a reality. A child, in danger of becoming another crime statistic, has learned how - and has chosen - to take the right path in becoming a productive adult.
